Our master bedroom was painted a mint green by the last homeowners, and while I liked the color I was dying to use this burnt orange duvet my grandpa gifted me and the mint green just didn’t go with the direction I wanted to take this room. So I painted it Alabaster by SW for a blank slate to work with. This is what it looked like when we first moved in.

I started by edging with my favorite paint brushes. This ladder is incredibly helpful as well! It is a pop up ladder so it drops down really small so it can be stored easily.

I removed all the outlet and switched covers and got to work rolling the rest of the room. I’m really short so this roller extender comes in really handy. I also use the bigger 18in roller to cover a bigger area at a time, you also need a bigger paint pan and a special roller holder with this, but it’s totally worth it!

This took 2 full coats and a quick 3rd coat to cover the green.

I ordered this large rug from Loloi that went better with the space. The old one was a jute rug and it’s insane how much dust got collected under it!! It was a challenge (and a workout!) to put the new rug in place under our king sized bed by myself! But I’m stubborn and didn’t want to wait for Tyler to get home to help me, so I made it work.

That took entirely way too long and I was exhausted by the time I got it perfectly placed, so I needed a nap!

This rug is so incredibly soft that I could just sleep down there instead of on the bed! Mia really liked it too and has requested one for her room!

I also found these gorgeous sheets with this pretty detailing.

This was just a mini weekend refresh. One day I have bigger plans for this bedroom. But for now I love it!

I also added a pretty faux fiddle leaf fig in the corner to bring some warmth into the space.

And now the room coordinates with the dining room and kitchen better since it’s right off of those spaces and we usually have our bedroom door open.

What do you think? Did you like the mint green better? Are you excited to see what I come up with for this space in the future? I can’t wait to do a full remodel of this room with some fun wall treatments, replace and paint all the trim Accessible Beige by SW like in the other rooms, and so much more!
