This guest room was a labor of love! And while I know the dark and moody vibe isn’t everyones cup of tea (hints the 32 million views the video got on Facebook of people arguing in the comments that they either really loved the room or really really really hated it! Some said it was too dark, some say they LOVE it and wish they were brave enough to go bold with a paint color and some said it looks like the bedroom in every horror film…and I don’t think they are wrong about the horror films! haha, it is a vintage/antique vibe that I was going for.)
I present you with what this room was originally and then what I turned it into!

I had been dying to do a moody room and I felt like the guest room would be the perfect spot to have a little fun! I went full moody and monochromatic in this bedroom and I have no regrets!

Eventually I want to make my own dresser or armoire for this space because I feel like there could be one that fits better than this amazon dresser I found, plus I just really love building furniture! Maybe even one that hides a pop up TV! But for now, this one works just fine!

I’m super proud of this room! It was a lot of hard work that took a lot of patience! I can’t decide if the vintage fandelier is why favorite or the board and batten…what do you think? Do you love this room? If so, what’s your favorite part? Or do you hate this room? What would you have done differently?

Turns out, I thought I was creating this bedroom for our guests and to get a little bit of creativity out of my system, but in reality, I was creating this space just for Ellie. This is now her room and we have no say!

Seriously, if you can’t find her around the house, she’s probably in her bedroom.
