I love making small changes throughout the house. This hall has had a lot of changes, it’s the pathway in our home that we are constantly using and decor changes are fun! I’ve gone through a few rugs. The first one I bought for the space pictured below is linked here. The one I currently have pictured above I love because it’s machine washable, so I can just throw it in the washing machine! That comes in really handy since this is a high traffic area.

I have been keeping an eye out for another that’s just a little longer to fill the space better, but a requirement is that it is machine washable.
If you’ve noticed in the last few pictures, I’ve also switched out the lighting a few times. The lights that came in the house were just very boring builder lights that cost about $10-$15 each.

When I first switched them out I just took the glass globe off and added baskets to give it a different look without spending a whole lot of money. The baskets were on sale at Hobby Lobby for less that $20 for both. They were definitely different and they were fun for a while.

Then I tried making some out of embroidery hoops and burlap. That was a fun and easy project that didn’t cost me very much. I used dowels to connect the embroidery hoops with hot glue, then wrapped burlap around it and added some hardboard on top to give me something to connect the lighting to.

I was happy with those for a little while, until I found these on amazon that were inexpensive.

Then more recently I found these semi flush mount lights that I think will be keepers! At least for a while! They are more elegant I feel.

The first thing I added to this hall was the my wooden wall art. It’s one of my first woodworking DIYs and I was so proud of it, still am!

I also added these gallery wall frames. They are pretty inexpensive on Amazon and I love them! My friend Jennifer is a great photographer and took these photos of Tyler, Mia and I specifically for this wall. It’s about time we take some more, Mia has grown a lot since then!

And that’s the evolution of my hallway! Links can be found here.
