Mia was super picky about the light that went in her room, she found this one below but I wasn’t wanting to spend that much on a light for a kids room.

The more I looked at it the more I realized I could make something very similar myself! And for under $40! All you need is:

I bought a 20in beach ball but you can get whatever size you’d like. I blew up the beach ball and then started dipping the twine into the Mod Podge and wrapping it around the ball. After getting it started I realized it was easier to just wrap the twine all around the beach ball randomly, making sure it was all covered and then dumping the Mod Podge all over it once I was done and rubbing it around with my hands, instead of dipping the twine in it as I went.

Once the string was wrapped all around the ball as evenly as I could get it and covered in Mod Podge I set it on a bowl to dry. This took a long time! The next day the bottom was still wet, so I rotated it and let it sit there for several more hours.

Once it was dry, I popped the ball with a knife and then seperated the string from the beach ball with a spatula because that’s what I had available. Use what you’ve got right!?

Then I just squeezed the bulb through a small hole in the twine and hung it up! We swapped out the light fixture and used a screw in hook to move the light over away from the bed to a better location. This fixture had plenty of space in the cord to adjust the length to where I wanted.

This was a super easy DIY project I got to do with my daughter and she loves her pendant light! Plus, I didn’t have to spend hundreds on it, it barely cost anything!
